Rabbi Scott Rosenberg is a native of Brooklyn, NY. In 1980, Rabbi Rosenberg earned the Bachelors degrees from both Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary. In 1983, Rabbi Rosenberg earned a Masters of Arts degree from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He was ordained by the Seminary in 1984. While serving his first congregation in Houston, Texas, Rabbi Rosenberg continued his Rabbinic studies and was certified as a Mesader Gitten (specialist in Jewish Family Law) by the Joint Bet Din of the Rabbinical Assembly in November of 1988. Rabbi Rosenberg currently serves as the head of the Rabbinical Assembly of New England's Rabbinic Court for matters of Jewish Family Law.
Since arriving at Temple Reyim (see below)in August of 1988, Rabbi Rosenberg has been active in a variety of local and national religious and civic organizations. He is the chaplain of the Newton Police Department. He currently serves as the President of the Newton Clergy Association, First Vice President of the Massachusetts Board of Rabbis, and First Vice President of the New England Region of the Rabbinical Assembly. Both locally and nationally, Rabbi Rosenberg is involved with the Boy Scouts of America, serving as an Executive Board Member of the Norumbega Council which serves Newton, Wellesley and Weston as well as a member of the National Jewish Committee on Scouting. Rabbi Rosenberg is also a member of the Board of the Synagogue Council of Massachusetts, the Jewish Chaplaincy Council, the Kashruth Commission, the Foundation for Racial, Religious and Ethnic Harmony in the City of Newton, and he currently chairs the Rabbinic team for the CJP.
Rabbi Rosenberg and his wife Amy Goldman reside in Newton, MA with their three children, Alex, Michael, and Elana.
